We take this opportunity to update and remind all of our clients and contacts about our law firm Michael Wilson & Partners, Ltd. (“MWP”), established in June 1998.

MWP has always been, and remains, one of the most professional, largest, truly independent and integrated law firms in Central Asia, established and operating in Kazakhstan, Almaty, since 1998, in Azerbaijan, Baku since 2002, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, covering the entire Central Asian & Caucusus Region, Russia, the Ukraine and Mongolia. We also have a network of local agents in all of the other countries and jurisdictions in and throughout Central Asia, the Caucasus, Russia, Ukraine and Mongolia.

MWP’s key personnel have been actively practicing for more than 29 years, on a resident full-time basis, taking a leading role on many of the ground breaking transactions in the Region which comprises Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Mongolia, Russia and the Ukraine.
Today, MWP continues to maintain its position as the Region’s largest truly independent and integrated law firm, and is also considered to be a key strategic business partner to many of its clients – both private and public – in cross border transactions, capital markets, financing, M&A, all aspects of foreign investment, joint ventures, privatisations, restructurings, mining and natural resources sectors and utilities, to name just a few.

Moreover, our Intellectual Property Department provides a full range of IP services, including trademark and patent searches, applications filings, renewals, changes of title, recordal of assignments and licenses as to domain names and related matters, providing a customs watch, IP right infringement monitoring and investigations, oppositions, appeals, licencing, franchising, distributorship and all manner of brand protection and enforcement work, and also coordinating and managing the same in and throughout our Region. We are active members of the INTA and IACC.

We provide our services at competitive rates and fees, and always guarantee diligent, conscientious and prompt responses and in being on-time. We always strive to meet and exceed our client expectations. In this context, and as a general rule, we always strive to ensure that all communications, questions and inquiries are responded to within no more than forty-eight (48) hours, but where we require more time we will at least first acknowledge the instructions. Accordingly, if you have not received a reply promptly, please do not hesitate to send us a reminder as even with our advanced and modern IT communication systems and technologies these days, messages can still sometimes go astray.
