On certain issues relating to the Operation of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan

According to this Resolution, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (the Ministry) is now the central executive agency carrying out regulation in the field of industry. It is responsible for the development of:
- innovation
- science and research
- mining metallurgical industry
- engineering
- chemical industry
- pharmaceutical industry
- consumer goods
- timber and woodwork industry
- building and construction areas

The Ministry exercises the:
- state support of investments
- security of machines, equipment and chemical products
- creation, operating and closing down of special economic areas
- exportation control
- technical regulation and maintenance of the unified measuring;
- power industry;
- mineral resources, except for hydrocarbons;
- state geological survey and restoration of the mineral resources base

The Ministry monitors:
- reasonable, efficient and intensive use of the subsoil
- state management of the subsoil and mineral resources, ground water and therapeutic muds
- coal industry
- atomic energy use
- encouragement and support of alternative and energy saving sources

The Ministry comprises of the:
- Committee on Investments
- Committee on Industry
- Committee on Technical Regulation and Meteorology
- Committee on State Energy Supervision
- Committee on Atomic Energy
- Committee on Geology and Subsoil Use.
